Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer: Geomatics

Requirements:

Associate Professor: A relevant Doctorate with at least eight years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level, or an equivalent combination of relevant professional and academic experience. Must be able to develop and teach advanced courses in Geodesy, Survey Network Adjustment and Geomatics Programming. Extensive knowledge and experience in the development and use of software for Geodetic Transformations and Least Squares Network Adjustment. Ability to stimulate and supervise research projects. A distinguished record of lecturing, curriculum development, research supervision at postgraduate level, peer-reviewed publications in accredited journals and service.
Senior Lecturer: A relevant Doctorate with at least six years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level, or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Must have programming skills and expertise in project management. A credible record of lecturing, research supervision at postgraduate level and peer-reviewed publications in accredited journals and service.

Lecturer: Geo-Information Technology
Requirements
A relevant Master’s degree with at least four years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. A Doctorate will be an advantage. Must be able to teach the following courses: Basic Web Cartography, Advanced Web GIS, Geodemographics and Spatial Data Infrastructure. Must have programming skills and expertise in project management. A credible record of lecturing, peer-reviewed publications in accredited journals and service.

Department of Architecture and Spatial Planning

Lecturer: Architecture
Requirements
A Master’s degree in Architecture with at least four years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level or an equivalent combination of relevant professional and academic experience. A Doctorate will be an advantage. Must be able to teach three or more courses in the following core areas: Architectural Design, History and Theory of Architecture, Construction Materials and Technology, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Building Structures and Environmental Technology. Must be registered or registrable with the Namibian Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors or other similarly recognised statutory professional body within the Eastern, Western and Southern African sub-region. A credible record of lecturing, peer-reviewed publications in accredited journals and services.
Professor / Associate Professor: Land and Property Sciences (2 Posts)
Requirements

Professor: A relevant Doctorate with at least ten years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience in Land and Environmental Law, Land Economics, Land and Environmental Economics or Land and Environmental Governance. Experience as an editor of a journal or as member of an editorial board will be an advantage. A credible record of lecturing, curriculum development, research supervision at postgraduate level, peer- reviewed publications in accredited journals and services.

Laboratory Technician: Nature Conservation

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Geo-Information Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics with at least two years of industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Must be able to assist and/or teach the following courses: Introduction to Geospatial Data, Introduction to Survey and Mapping and Geographic Information Systems. Experience in the maintenance and supervision of computer laboratories, networks and other ICT infrastructure.

Job Description
Tutor; supervise students’ practical sessions; deliver hands-on training to students in the use of GIS software; troubleshoot IT infrastructure in the laboratories; manage student domain and administer network licensing.

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lecture, research, curriculum development, community service and administration.
