The African Climate & Development Initiative is pleased to announce a second Call for Proposals under its Student Research Fund. Under the call, registered Masters and PhD students from across the University of Cape Town who are engaged in a climate change and development related project are invited to apply for funding in support of field work and other research costs. Students can be in any year of their studies. The once-off awards will generally range from R2,000 to R3,000, with up to R5, 000 being granted in exceptional cases. Successful applicants will be required to become ACDI-affiliated students, and acknowledge joint affiliation (between the ACDI and their home departments) in research outputs.
To apply, send a MAX. two page outline of your research project/proposal (ensuring you make clear the link to climate change and development) including:
• Your Name
• Title of Project
• Research Background and Rationale
• Aims and Objectives
• Results/Progress to Date (where relevant)
• Expected Outputs and Outcomes
In addition, attach an itemized budget for research costs, outlining the total research costs and the amount requested from the ACDI. Further, applicants are required to complete the Google Form here. The entire application process must be completed by the closing date indicated, and all attachments sent to the email below.
